About BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM)

British Columbia (BC), nestled between the rugged Pacific Ocean coastline and legendary Canadian Rockies, is truly sea to sky. BC agriculture is diverse and unique with the largest proportion of small farms in Canada along with the highest proportion of women farmers in the country. A plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables of all kinds, artisanal meats, cheeses, and seafood, including kelp are grown and sold by 4,000+ farms and food vendors at 145+ BC farmers’ markets. Notably, 40% of farms in BC sell food products directly to consumers, including at farmers’ markets. Natural incubators for new food businesses, thousands of successful farm and food businesses have been hatched at BC farmers’ markets. The first of its kind in Canada, BCAFM also delivers the BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program, which provides lower income pregnant people, families and seniors with fresh fruits and vegetables direct from 1,000+ BC farmers. Find and learn more about each BC farmers’ market easily through the BC Farmers’ Market Trail, a world class website tool for foodies here and everywhere.

BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) is proud to promote, support, and strengthen farmers’ markets across British Columbia and beyond. Visit the BCAFM website to learn more about us.
