Why This Session Matters
Last year, we brought together global stakeholders in our WorldFMC Academy Studio to create a working definition of a farmers market. This collaborative effort led to the following definition:
“A Farmers Market is a recurring and coordinated assembly of local farmers or their representatives, selling local agricultural products they have grown, harvested, and/or processed, directly to the public.”
Every word was intentionally chosen to reflect the heart of what a farmers market truly represents.
In this first session of 2025, we invite you to revisit this definition with us. Conducted by our board members, who represent every continent, this discussion will re-examine each term, reaffirm our commitment, and explore actionable strategies to strengthen and sustain this definition globally.
